Episode 47 - How to defend William Branham... poorly (Part 5)
/

Rod & John continue to examine Wisper Gwena’s defence of William Branham.  In this episode, Pastor Gwena’s defense of William Branham is challenged on the basis that:

  • All of William Branham’s prophecies are “after the fact” and even some of those he gets wrong.
  • William Branham made no valid “before the fact” prophecies on any of his publicly recorded sermons.

Pastor Gwena is from Waltham Abbey (North London), UK where he is the pastor of Spoken Word Ministry church.  Joining Rod is John Collins, author of the Seek The Truth website and grandson of Willard Collins, the former pastor of Branham Tabernacle in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

  1. I enjoyed these podcasts and I am forever grateful to God. Scripture said we will be led into all truth and I do feel in my life truth has prevailed. Contrary to what many people may think. Thank you Rod and John. We shall not die spiritually because we have accepted knowledge. Knowledge in knowing that it is through Jesus Christ that we are saved. It’s clear to me now that I don’t need the message to go to heaven.

  2. Gosh this defence of WMB has been atrocious from a man of Pastor G’s calibre. One can’t help but wonder about the methods of scriptural interpretations whether they even align with WMB’s own admonition “do not misinterpret, dislocate, misconstrue the word” ( original to Larkin, by the way). It’s clear from his last comments he ended up on a back foot defending “himself” in what seemed like an inevitable U-turn… what a train wreck!

He just walked straight into his own trap before everyone’s eyes… what a lesson … Now the rest of them won’t even show up for fear of being taken to the dry cleaners.

    1. It is quite surprising but that is what cognitive dissonance does to people. And honestly, message people can listen to this and think that his defense is sound. Cognitive dissonance results in people accepting things they would normally think make no sense.

  3. When I heard Pastor G say they could pick up an evil spirit and Rod’s response that “what he’s calling an evil spirit may in fact be the Holy Spirit,” it reminds me of Jesus words:

“Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”

Pastor G is unashamedly blaspheming the Holy Spirit by attributing the works of the Holy Spirit to a demon/evil spirit! Very scary for him! This is after all the unpardonable sin! The Pharisees did the SAME thing, attributing to Satan (Beelzebub) the works of the Holy Spirit. They saw the evidence with their own eyes that the miracles Jesus performed could only be of God and yet, to make themselves look good, they slander the Holy Spirit… History repeats itself.

    1. I agree, Sharon. Peter tells us that “these false teachers are like unthinking animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed. They scoff at things they do not understand, and like animals, they will be destroyed.” (2 Pe 2:12) And Jude tells us that “these people scoff at things they do not understand. Like unthinking animals, they do whatever their instincts tell them, and so they bring about their own destruction.” (Jud 10)

It is quite sad. We have asked Wisper Gwena to come on our podcast and discuss our concerns with the message but he has declined.

      1. Thanks Rod! It also reminds me of God “giving them over” to their desires because of their sinful selfishness. They don’t want to know God, and so He lets them have what they want, eternal separation from Him…

“And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a corrupt mind so that they do what is not right.”
